# Monopoly

One of the first games Checkin will launch on the onchain <> IRL primitive will be a "[Monopoly](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monopoly_\(game\))"-style game. Although inspired by the game mechanics of Monopoly, we have our own twists to ensure all players are rewarded and value accrued by the Checkin ecosystem is distributed back to participants.

3 major participants in this will be:

* Property Owners - users who have a free mint an NFT of the property (max 1000 per property)
* Checkin Users - users who checkin to a location
* Businesses - the underlying business of the property (see Roadmap for more details on how to plan to collaborate)

### Basic Gameplay

Users can get a free mint of properties they frequent/like or are sentimental/popular (max 1000 NFTs per property).

When checkin users check into a property that's owned by another player, both the checkin user and property owner will receive $CHECK as a reward. NOTE: Having a property owner does not detract from the user checking in, they will receive the same amount of points they normally would.

e.g. In the example below, Yuki purchases Blue Bottle Coffee near Hudson Yards and becomes one of the Property Owners. Ed checks into Blue Bottle Coffee and earns rewards. Yuki will then also earn extra rewards because he is one of the Property Owners of that Blue Bottle Coffee.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://checkin.gitbook.io/checkin-litepaper-v0.1/gameplay/onchain-property/monopoly.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
